Over 60pc of London Commercial Court litigants come from abroad

Foreigners make up the majority of parties to cases in London's Commercial Court, according to Hogan Lovells.

Speaking at a seminar organised by the Russian Legal Information Agency, Hogan Lovells litigation partner Jeremy Cole said that there had been a 'huge increase' in the use of London courts in recent years for international cases. He said: "Over the last four years in our commercial court, litigants who are from overseas – outside the UK – have increased by 30%. Over 60% of our litigants in our commercial court are from outside the UK. 8% of those are from the CIS region.'
