Philadelphia's legal sector is a large contributor to the regional economy Marco Rubino

A survey measuring the size and employment contribution of the legal sector in Philadelphia estimates that five per cent of all jobs lie within the legal sector. The report, by Econsult Solutions, suggests what law firms have long suspected, that the contribution of the legal sector is greater than has been appreciated. The report - thought to be the first of its kind in the region - measures all legal posts from lawyers to e-discovery specialists to court reporters. Total revenue is estimated at US$5b. Total jobs are put at 'more than 31,400' in a total of 700,000.Kathleen Wilkinson, chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, told Philly.com that she hoped city leaders would appreciate how central the legal sector is to the regional economy.
