Portolano Cavallo has also expanded its international focus with the hiring in Italy of  Emily Maxwell as Of Counsel.  Ms Maxwell will launch the firm’s investigations practice and expand the dispute resolution practice.  Prior to joining the firm Ms Maxwell developed her expertise in defending complex business disputes, domestic and international arbitration and corruption investigations as a partner at Howrey, DLA Piper, and its predecessor firm, Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich. According to Micael Montinari, head of dispute resolution Ms Maxwell 'will contribute her US experience to develop an Italian investigations practice, which few firms have in Italy.'
