Pro bono work spreads to one in three law firms

A third of law firms have participated in some kind of pro bono work, according to a survey by Who's Who Legal.

Lawyers give back Kunal Mehta

In its first survey on the area, Who's Who Legal found that the most common motivator was 'commitment to a cause', followed by assisting those 'outside of the legal aid system', 'giving back' to local communities and 'personal satisfaction'. All but three firms offering pro bono have a co-ordinator, and three quarters of those are lawyers, according to the survey results. Source: Who's Who Legal.
