Berwin Leighton Paisner, which is currently in merger talks with Greenberg Taurig, has made 17 partner promotions worldwide. Fourteen are in London, while outside the City two partners were made up in Moscow and another in Singapore.
The firm's real estate practice saw the most promotions, with six all in the City; Adriano Amorese, Sarah Fitzpatrick, Liana Hewson, Ruth Miller, Matthew Peel and Laura Wild. Others promoted in the London office include tax practitioners Matthew Poole and Paul Shaw, litigators James Clarke, Polly James and Andrew Tuson, corporate lawyers Gareth Jones and Kieran Saunders and finance lawyer Peter Knust.
As for Moscow, Anton Panchenkov from the corporate practice and Ivan Veselov from the litigation and corporate risk practice were made up, while in Singapore finance lawyer Simon Spells was promoted to the partnership.
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has announced that 16 lawyers will be promoted to the partnership this year. Five of the group being made up are based at the firm's Fleet Street headquarters: Charles Hayes in corporate, Gabriel Mpubani in finance, Craig Montgomery in disputes, Alice Greenwell in employment and Vikki Hills in real estate.
The remainder of this year's promotions were spread across Europe, the US and Dubai. Two of the group being made up are based in Düsseldorf: Katrin Gassner in antitrust, competition and trade and Moritz Becker in dispute resolution. Tax lawyer David Beutel has been promoted to the partnership in Munich, as have corporate lawyers Stephan Pachinger in Vienna, Javier Monzon in Madrid and Florent Mazeron in Paris.
Two have been promoted to the partnership in Dubai: corporate lawyer Rob Cant and finance lawyer Haris Meyer Hanif.
As for the US, Caroline Richard has been made partner in the dispute resolution practice in Washington, with Mary Lehner becoming partner in the same locale in the antitrust, competition and trade practice. Finally, finance lawyer Ryan Suda has been made a partner in New York.
The appointments will take effect on 1 May 2016.
Squire Patton Boggs has promoted 30 to the partnership across 20 offices in its latest round; the firm has also promoted nine individuals to principal.
Seven of those being made partner are based in the City: employment lawyers Natalie Bellwood and Supinder Sian, international dispute resolution practitioners James Barratt and Alexis Martinez, Aline Doussin, a senior associate in the firm's international trade practice, litigation specialist Gareth Timms and IP adviser Florian Traub.
This year the firm has also made up Leeds-based financial services lawyer Jeremy Ladyman and litigator Raymond O' Connor, who is based in Birmingham.
