Griffith, who had been at DLA Piper since he trained, resigned on Monday morning after being pursued by the rapidly expanding US firm. He had built a strong leveraged finance practice in his 17 years at DLA, servicing Ares Capital, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group and RBS.
Hiring Spree
Griffith’s arrival at Proskauer follows a string of recent hires. Having secured Steven Davis, who led SJ Berwin’s City corporate team before its $1bn Sino-Australian merger and began at the firm in January, Proskauer has also hired Baker’s Bertrand-Delfau, Simmons & Simmons’ dealmaker Matt Rees and Kirkland & Ellis’ M&A partner James Howe. He will work with head of UK M&A Steven Davis, who joined the firm last December from King & Wood Mallesons. Source: Legal Business; The Lawyer
