Pussy Riot lawyer and client to square up in October

A Moscow court will next month start hearing the case of a Pussy Riot member who claims her lawyer, Violetta Volkova, made unkind remarks about her on social media.

Yekaterina Samutsevich, who spent some time in jail before being released, is claiming about US$62,000 from Ms Volkova as compensation for the unkind comments. A hearing had been scheduled for 18 September but had to be postponed because of the absence of Ms Volkova, according to the Russian Legal Information Agency. Ms Volkova has previously said that she represented Ms Samutsevich for free.
