Skype head of legal Will Scrimshaw believes that corporate counsel are looking at a future where data scientists are key members of the legal team. He says 'big data' will be 'at the heart of everything' in law departments and predicts that bots will be used to answer basic legal questions. He also envisages 'living' contracts that update themselves and prompt action for milestones such as deliverables, renewals, payments and exercising of rights.
