Russian authorities chastised over internet closures Solodov Alexey

Founded in late 2012, internet regulator Roskomnadzor has made mistakes when it blocked 98 per cent of  sites it has closed, according to the internet freedom NGO RosKomSvoboda. The main reason for the errors was the sharing of the same net - or IP - addresses as sites which deserved to be banned. The Russian Legal Information Agency reports Aleksei Volin, deputy head of the telecoms ministry, as saying: 'Buy your own IP address, and there’s no reason to worry. Or, if you decided to use a shared IP – check who your neighbours are.'
