Industry publication The Lawyer reports that Shoosmiths is planning to add between 20 and 30 new lawyers and staff to its London office over the next few years. Chairman Peter Duff says that efforts to grow the office have already begun, with a number of new lateral recruits due to join the firm at the end of the summer. With its London headcount currently hovering around 30, the planned growth drive will essentially double the size of Shoosmiths London team. ‘We’ve been successful in being able to service an awful lot of work without a London presence but the reality is that some work requires a London presence,’ commented Mr Duff. The firm recently launched its eleventh UK office in Leeds. Source: The Lawyer
