The other university law schools dropped off the list are at Leicester, Liverpool, Sheffield and Southampton. These eight schools accounted for 30 per cent of Singaporean law graduates studying in the UK over the last three years.
Over-supply
The move follows the decision of the Singapore Institute of Legal Education to cut the accepted list of UK schools from 19 to 11. Those still on the list include Oxford, Cambridge, Nottingham, Warwick and Durham. Transitional arrangements are being put in place so that people who have already secured a place at these insitutions will not be set back - and the shortened list will apply from 2016/17 only. Singapore has been concerned about having an over-supply of lawyers. Source: Channel News Asia
