Chosen to replace Mr Clark is finance partner Paul Stacey, who first joined Slaughters over three decades ago in 1981 and was promoted to the firm’s partnership in 1990. Between 2011 and 2014, Mr Stacey served as head of the firm’s finance practice and as member of the firm’s partnership board. As executive partner, he will be responsible for Slaughters’ overall management strategy including people, finance, technology and compliance, working closely alongside senior partner Steve Cooke and practice partner David Witmann.
Business as usual
Mr Stacey will assume the role of executive partner for an initial five-year term. Speaking of his appointment, he said he had no intention of diverging from the legacy left behind by his predecessor: ‘I will carry on the excellent work that Richard [Clark] has done and I will continue it – I’m not planning on making any changes just carrying on with it,’ he said. Mr Witmann was also re-elected today for an extended five-year term commencing May 2017, while Mr Cooke commenced his own five-year term in May this year.
