London law firms Stewarts and Enyo Law have pulled out of merger talks to create an £80 million disputes law firm. The firms released a statement confirming the talks had collapsed between the two firms. Stewards managing partner John Cahill said that his firm decided to go down the path of organic growth and lateral hires and would be expanding its commercial disputes practice. Both firms had reported strong growth in the past years with Enyo recording turnover of £21 million and Stewarts around £62 million. A statement from Stewarts said. 'Following very preliminary and exploratory discussions both firms have decided not to pursue matters further.'
