Texas law firm takes on insurers over floods

Houston-based McDonald Worley is offering to look into cases where people or businesses feel they have been unfairly turned down by insurers or have been subject to delays.

Extremely heavy rainfall in late May led to the loss of at least 22 lives in Texas. The Federal Emergency Management Agency made a disaster declaration across several parts of the state. The National Crime Insurance Bureau has estimated that up to 10,000 vehicles have been damaged or written off. Gene Hall of the Texas Farm Bureau said: ‘It's shaping up to be a pretty rough year. To some degree virtually all farmers in the state have been affected.’

Treated unfairly

Donald Worley of McDonald Worley said: ‘The people impacted by the widespread flooding in Texas are our friends and neighbors, businesses our office frequents, members of our community and State, and I won't stand for their being treated unfairly by giant insurance companies looking after their bottom line.’ Sources: PRNewsWire,  AutoBlog and CNN
