Statistics suggest that many in-house lawyers could currently be at risk of disciplinary action for working without the necessary clearance. Data released by the Illinois Supreme Court states that 828 corporate counsel have received the required licences since 2004. By contrast, information form the Association of Corporate Counsel suggests there are 9,600 in-house lawyers in the state. But no action will be taken, under the action, if people without the documentation obtain a licence during 2014. Source: Madison Record.
