The deal marks the first time that a Japanese legal group acquires a foreign firm of this scale and will see the Bangkok-based firm serve as the centre for Mori Hamada's operations in the region, which will span 60 lawyers.
Growing demand
Mori Hamada already has a Bangkok office with five lawyers, but the firm has decided to step up its expansion in light of growing demand in neighbouring countries such as Myanmar.
