Trump claim lawyer found in contempt over Can $2.1m debt

A well-known Toronto lawyer who launched an investors' lawsuit last year regarding Trump International Hotel & Tower has been found in contempt for failing to repay a Can£2.1 million debt to a client.

Javad Heydary was found to be 'deliberately or recklessly' ignoring a court order to repay the sum which had been held in trust of a couple. He is believed to have returned to his native Iran in mid-November after coming under pressure to return the amount. The Law Society of Upper Canada has seized his practice, alleging 'misappropriation' and 'mishandling trust funds'. Source: Toronto Star
