Twelve Nebraska counties 'have no lawyers'

Nebraska is totally without lawyers in 12 of its states while others have 'only a handful'.

Nebraska State Bar Association promotes rural practice to law students Ufuk Zivana

The problems, according to the ABA Journal,  have encouraged the Nebraska State Bar Association to start an initiative to promote the benefits of a rural practice to students. Bar Association President Marsha Fangmeyer says that the initiative has already resulted in 'two or three' people finding jobs through tours of small towns. She is quoted as saying: 'The hope is to continue this effort in other areas of the state," she said. "It is essential that we provide access to justice all across the state, including the rural areas.'
