Barry Wolf, Weil’s executive partner, said: “We have always had a world-renowned corporate bench and full-service transactional capabilities in our Boston office and, with Adam, we continue the expansion of top-notch litigation and trial expertise in this market. We could not be happier to be welcoming Adam, as we continue to enjoy a national expansion of our litigation offerings.”
Gershenson arrives after just over 12 years at Cooley, having previously spent five years at WilmerHale, where he worked his way up to senior associate. He started his legal career as a law clerk in the US Court of the Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Drew Tulumello, co-chair of Weil’s global litigation department, said: “Adam’s a rare talent with extraordinary strategic judgement and the versatility to represent clients at high-stakes trials and on appeal. His addition immediately enhances our firepower in prominent AI, technology and bioscience disputes and trade secret matters.”
He is Weil’s 14th litigation partner hire in the US this year, as well as the fourth partner lateral in Boston. Those included tech and IP transactions lawyer Liza Cotter who also joined from Cooley in Boston in June.
Gershenson said: “Weil is unsurpassed in its commitment to meeting the needs of clients in the highest-stakes IP and trade secret disputes. The calibre of trial lawyers here and the firm’s focus on client service make this the perfect platform for my practice.”
