White & Case has confirmed that BLP tax head Michael Wistow is joining the firm as co-head of its own EMEA tax practice. Mr Wistow has worked with BLP for almost a decade, joining as head of tax in 2007 from Clifford Chance. He was also a member of the BLP board and executive committee.
Strategic hire

Mr Wistow’s own practice focuses on corporate, financial and real estate industry-based transactions and clients, carrying out property and debt funds, acquisitions and disposals, and joint ventures.
Expansion mode
Mr Wistow’s recruitment comes following a long string of new hires to White & Case’s growing London office. The firm recently recruited former Ashurst head of disputes Mark Clarke and equity capital markets partner Jonathan Parry in May and April respectively, and picked up former Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer banking partner Jeffrey Rubinoff in June.
