Winners announced at Luxury Law Summit Awards 2026 in London

In-house counsel at luxury brands including Vivienne Westwood, Manolo Blahnik, JLR and Ferrari were among the winners at the Luxury Law Summit Awards in London this week.

The event was hosted at 116 Pall Mall and was attended by more than TKTK legal professionals, honouring the brands, lawyers and legal teams shaping the future of the global luxury market.

Winners included former Mulberry general counsel and company secretary Kate Anthony Wilkinson, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Vivienne Westwood senior legal counsel Victoria Simon, who won the Fashion Council of the Year award for her work protecting the brand from an IP and licensing perspective.

Meanwhile, the award for General Counsel of the Year went to Jennifer Guilfoyle, chief legal officer and company secretary at Maybourne Hotels, owner of ultra luxury hotels Claridge’s, The Connaught, The Berkeley and The Emory in London, as well as The Maybourne Beverly Hills and The Maybourne Riviera.

JLR’s chief legal officer, David Berry, won the Global General Counsel of the Year award for his efforts to turn JLR’s legal team into an effective business partner, including helping the company recover from a cyber-attack last year.

Ferrari won the Legal Team of the Year award for its innovative legal work in areas including crypto assets and winning a landmark judgment in a dispute about its iconic TESTAROSSA trademark.

And Alibaba’s head of global IP enforcement, Matthew Bassiur, won the Global Leadership in Intellectual Property award for his broad efforts to combat counterfeiting, as well as other anti-piracy initiatives.

Law firms that were among the winners included Debevoise & Plimpton, which scooped the IP Team of the Year award; BonelliErede, which won the Luxury Law Firm of the Year - Independent award; and Baker McKenzie, which took home the Luxury Law Firm of the Year - International award.

The award judges included Workday deputy GC Aine Lyons; PPHE’s legal director Amy Harris; Treatwell GC James Hanlon; L’Oreal’s head of luxury legal division Joanne Loughrey; COTY GC for commercial and licensing Melanie Nardo; Chamber of Commerce consultant Norma O’Regan; and consultant Rita Lowe.

The awards were sponsored by Bristows, Browne Jacobson, Centrepoint, Davis Wright Tremaine, Foley & Lardner, Graff Search, Harbottle & Lewis, K&L Gates, Killik & Co, Saul Ewing and Winston Taylor.
