Disputes team in tug-of-war battle as Indian recruitment war intensifies

Leading firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas has lost out to rival Dua Associates in a fight over the team of senior disputes partner Shiraz Patodia.

Ms Patodia had given notice a month ago that she, two junior partners and two others were leaving Dua for Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas. But she has announced that the unit will be staying. She said: 'On account of significant client conflicts that emerged during our discussion last week, we came to the conclusion that it wouldn’t be possible for us to go ahead at this point of time.'

Firm's value system

Ranji Dua of Dua said: 'We respect and welcome Shiraz and her team’s decision to continue with the firm. It reinforces the sound basis of the firm’s value system and encouraging its professionals to grow their respective practices in an atmosphere of responsible freedom.' Source: Legally India
