Napoli Bern accused of Ground Zero $36m overcharge

Leading personal injury New York law firm Napoli Bern has appeared before an arbitration panel, accused of overcharging by some US$36m in relation to 9/11.

The firm has been accused by the law firm which it was collaborating with, Worby Groner, of overstating expenses worth $36m - for a range of items including rent and insurance. The clients of the two firms amounted to some 10,000 and included police officers and fire fighters. Referring to founding partner Paul Napoli - also embroiled in defamation proceedings - the panel said: 'Mr Napoli's estimates are not sufficient'. The arbitrators' decision now goes to Supreme Court Justice Eileen Bransten who will decide what should happen next. Source: New York Post
