On 5 February, the firm announced that Mr Kinsella has decided that the right time has arrived to exit the firm after 'working on a succession plan over the last few years.' During his tenure as head of general law, Mr Kinsella has overseen a considerable expansion of Slater & Gordon's business in the UK. However, his leave-taking comes less than a month after the firm announced that it would consult on closing its offices in Manchester and Derby, a move which could affect some 51 staff. The Australia-listed firm has also suffered an 86 per cent spiral in its share price over the last 12 months amid ongoing concerns about its accounting practices and financial health.
