Slaughter and May Twitter presence criticised by digital agency

Pinsent Masons has come top whilst Slaughter and May is bottom in a rating of the way the top 20 London law practices use Twitter.

Twitter is not for all law firms Twin Design

In its analysis, digital marketing agency Online Ventures Group says: ‘Pinsent Masons’ Twitter account is one of the few… which [tweets on] non-legal matters on a regular basis… for example… on important news events.’ Online Ventures is, however, critical of the decision taken by Slaughters to make its Twitter account available only to signed-up followers. It says: ‘Exclusivity and privacy limit Slaughter and May’s outreach capacity. One of the key goals of social media is to increase brand awareness and generate client interest in your business. With a closed Twitter account, Slaughter and May fail to do this on a popular and widespread level.’ In late 2013, Slaughter was recorded as having just two followers on its Twitter account.
