Top Australian GCs set up group to influence parliament

The new group, GC100 - which includes half the top lawyers from the Australian Stock Exchange 100 - intends to lobby on a range of areas from data protection to corporate governance and practice management.

The group is a part of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association. Chair of the GC100 Carmel Mulhern, GC for Testra, said that senior lawyers are particularly well-placed to make arguments to law-makers on these issues because they sit in the boardrooms of their companies. She added : 'We actually see how policy impacts business. We get that cross-company perspective, we can bring the legal thinking but also our company experience.'

Leading businesses
