Bupa employment team triggers panel review

Bupa Group's employment law team has launched its second-ever review of outside counsel in a move expected to create three spaces for law firms.

Bupa: inviting pitches

The Bupa team is inviting pitches for places on the panel of external advisors, with firms given until 14 September to register and kick-off the tender process. The legal team aims to have the review completed by the end of the year.
Bupa Group’s employment law team conducted its first review in 2009, awarding places to DAC Beachcroft (Beachcroft at the time), DLA Piper and Pinsent Masons.

Down on the farm

Meanwhile, London law firm Bircham Dyson Bell has left the UK’s National Farmers Union’s (NFU) external legal panel ‘by mutual consent’, according to The Lawyer. The firm becomes the only one from the previous 16 panel firms not to continue, following an ‘intensive’ review carried out by the agricultural lobby group.
Bowcock Cuerden, Clarke Willmott, Crombie Wilkinson, Foot Antsey, Hewitsons, Lanyon Bowdler, Jacksons Law Firm, Napthens, Shakespeares, Tees Solicitors, Thrings, Wilkin Chapman, Wright Hassall and Welsh duo John Collins Partners and Cyfraith JRL Law have all held on to their panel spots for another three years.
Birchams was unavailable for comment.
