Ex-Shearman partner sets up barristers website

Businesses and individuals who want to use a barrister without going through a solicitor can now turn to mybarrister.co.uk, a site set up by barrister and former Shearman & Sterling partner Ronald DeKoven.

Some 100 barristers, including some QCs. Barristers can be instructed directly - but only 10 per cent of their income tends to be earned this way, according to a survey by Smith & Williamson. Mr DeKoven raised his money for the site by crowd-funding and is giving discounts on their registration fees with the site if they decide to invest. Source: Financial Times.
