Reema Bajaj appeared before the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission which accused her of criminal conduct and making false statements. According to the Daily Mail, she was accused of 'committing a criminal act that reflects adversely on the lawyer's honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer in other respects'. The complaint against her explained how she had posted online advertisements between 2005 and 2008 under the name of 'Nikita' on sites including Adult Friend Finder. She was admitted to the bar in 2010.
Practice suspended
The complaint says that she denied, under oath, that she had been paid for sex in the past. She has now closed her legal practice. Having agreed to have her licence suspended until 2016, Ms Bajaj must now get the agreement of a more senior disciplinary panel and then the Illinois Supreme Court.
