Third lawyer killed in remote US county

The fatal shooting of Oshyn Hinton on Sunday night, with the subsequent arrest of his son on a murder charge, brings to three the number of lawyers killed in York County, South Carolina in recent years - all, allegedly, by loved ones.

The lawyer, 47, was shot in the back of the head in his home in Spartanburg. A sheriff's report say that his 23-year old son, Osiris, was shouting 'I killed my father! I killed my father!' when the police arrived. He was arrested and charged. The deceased was described as 'one of our brightest' by another lawyer in the area. He had spent time as a public defender and as an advocate for neglected and abused children before entering private practice.
