Eivind J. Vesterkjær is a partner at Advokatfirmaet Thommessen and heads the firm’s EU/EEA and Competition Law practice. He holds a Candidate in Jurisprudence degree from the University of Oslo (1989) and a DEA in EU Law from the Université de Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) (1991). Eivind has over three decades of experience advising on competition law, merger control, public procurement, state aid, FDI and regulatory issues across a wide range of sectors, including technology, telecom, financial services, shipping, energy, defence, life sciences and distribution. He was a member of the Norwegian Bar Association’s expert committee for competition law from 2019 to 2024. He is ranked as a Recommended Lawyer by The Legal 500 and Band 2 by Chambers & Partners Europe for Competition/Antitrust, recognised by Who’s Who Legal as an expert in competition law and government contracts, and by Lexology as a “Global Elite Thought Leader (Tier 1)” within Life Sciences.
