Svein Terje Tveit is a partner at Advokatfirmaet Thommessen in Oslo, joining from Arntzen de Besche in 2025. He holds a Master of Laws from the University of Bergen (2006) and LLM degrees from King’s College London and Heidelberg University. Svein Terje advises on all aspects of EU and Norwegian competition law, state aid, public procurement, EU/EEA law and related commercial strategy. He has extensive experience representing clients before the EU/EEA and Norwegian authorities in complex merger control processes, investigations and disputes. He is a member of the Norwegian Bar Association’s Committee for Antitrust and Competition Law and was appointed to the government expert group revising the Norwegian public procurement rules. He co-authored the EEA State Aid chapter of State Aid and the Energy Sector (Hart Publishing). He is ranked as a Next Generation Partner by The Legal 500 and Band 3 by Chambers & Partners Europe.
