Gabriela Kennedy

Gabriela Kennedy is a partner of Mayer Brown and co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Intellectual Property practice. She is also head of the Asia IP and TMT group and a member of the firm’s global Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice. Based in Hong Kong, Gabriela advises leading global brands and businesses on IP, media, information technology (IT) and telecommunications law as well as on data privacy and cyber-security issues. She advises on cutting-edge mainstream technology projects involving issues around fintech, regtech, AI, P2P, emerging payment technologies, merchant solutions and headline mobile payments deals. Her particular expertise includes advising on complex IT transactions and projects, IT outsourcing, cloud-computing, mobile payments, IoT, issues relating to adopting AI in business processes, robo contracts, data sharing agreements, and disputes stemming from failed IT projects. She is the author of 350+ articles on intellectual property, data protection, IT and telecoms law and chapters in books, and co-authors the Hong Kong Halsbury on Information Technology as well Halsbury on Information Privacy and Confidentiality. Gabriela is immediate past President of the ITechLaw Association, the largest association for technology lawyers.
