Rie is a Partner in Plesner’s EU & Competition Law team and the Head of Plesner’s Economic Analysis team. Rie has a Master’s degree in Economics, a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Copenhagen, and a postgraduate diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College London. Rie plays a pivotal role in handling the complex economic aspects of competition and damages law, managing some of the most significant and intricate cases by both Danish and international standards. Rie’s competition law expertise encompasses complex mergers (including, for example, the merger of Novozymes and Chr. Hansen, the Danish State’s acquisition of control of Copenhagen Airport, and Tryg’s acquisition of parts of RSA Insurance Group), international cartels, and complex cases involving abuse of a dominant position (including representing the Danish energy company Ørsted in a multi-billion-DKK damages case concerning excessive pricing).
