Leading luxury experts from brands and brand owners, including Belmond, Bottega Veneta, Diageo and Dolce & Gabbana, are among the stars at the upcoming Luxury Law Summit in London on 10 June at the British Museum.

The annual one-day event brings together the industry’s leading general counsel, in-house teams, founders, creative technologists and industry commentators for a day of insights and networking. The theme for this year’s summit is The Agile GC: Navigating Complexity and Innovation in Luxury’s Evolving Landscape, which will focus on brands’ ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changes, challenges and opportunities.

Programme sessions include an opening panel discussion – ‘The Front Row: What the General Counsel are Really Worried about and Why’ – moderated by summit chair and Belmond GC Abbi Hunt. The discussion will set the scene for the day and provide a high-level view of the legal and business imperatives driving the future of luxury. Panellists include Raffaella Romano, worldwide general counsel and compliance officer for Bottega Veneta, and Amy Franklin, general counsel for JW Anderson.

Also on the agenda are panels exploring the fractional GC and its place in today’s legal luxury market, strategies for protecting and positioning brands, bridging the gap between true luxury consumers and Gen Z, and M&A updates, including trends in the next 12 to 18 months.

Other speakers slated to take part include Rocco Forte’s general counsel Nick Clayson; Liberty’s head of legal Julia Bastiman; Diageo’s head of legal Marianthe Goodwin; Moncler and Dolce & Gabbana Americas former regional chief people officer Jamie Durling; Lyst CEO Emma McFerran and Lyst general counsel Rebecca Giannotta; Phoebe Philo general counsel Emma Anthony; Charlotte Tilbury Beauty chief legal officer Ashleigh Hegarty; and Selfridges Group group general counsel Emma Howes.

The day will be interspersed with the Luxury Law Awards, with categories including IP Team of the Year, Partner of the Year, Law Firm of the Year (international and independent), General Counsel of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award. There will also be a fashion showcase by British designer Benedict Lamb, a luxury book launch session and an evening drinks reception sponsored by Oracle Solicitors.
