BigPay shrinks at BigLaw firms

Only 27 per cent of starting salaries at the largest firms are pegged at US$160,000 - a significant fall back from 2009 when nearly two-thirds of such salaries were at this level.

Research from the National Association for Law Placement into the salaries offered by firms with 700 lawyers or more shows that the median starting salary is now US$135,000, the lowest level in eight years. Source: ABA
