Bingham McCutcheon's London managing partner James Roome is said to be considering defection if the practice merges with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

Mr Roome is co-chair of the Bingham global financial restructuring group. He is said to be in discussions about leaving. Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has been mentioned as a possible destination - not just for him but for other lawyers in London who might follow him to the door.
