However, while Brexit has impacted the decision the move, which remains subject to regulatory approval, would only see a small number of jobs moving and part of company strategy to ensure it can continue to serve its customers. Brexit will have no impact on operations and staff in other LGIM locations. The company released a statement commenting on its plans. 'Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) confirms it has chosen Ireland, subject to regulatory approval, for part of its investment management operations. The decision is part of LGIM’s strategy to ensure it can continue to serve its customers, both in Ireland and across the European Union (EU), after the UK leaves the EU. There is no foreseeable impact on operations and staff in other LGIM locations,' the statement said.

Other Dublin moves

The news comes hot on the heels of revelations that JP Morgan Chase which currently employs around 500 people in Dublin, said it had agreed to buy a building in the city with room for 1000 staff. Meanwhile Legg Mason said in March that it was setting up a management company in Ireland.

Other winning locations

Other locations which have won jobs from the city post Brexit vote are Luxembourg with AIG and Lloyd's of London chose Brussels.
