Fashion giant PVH has lined up Elisheva Hirshman as its next chief legal officer, succeeding Mark Fischer, who is stepping down later this year ahead of his retirement.
Hirshman is currently PVH’s deputy general counsel and joined the company’s executive leadership team at the start of this year as part of its succession plan. As CLO, she will lead the global legal function and serve as corporate secretary.
She will take up her new position on 4 September.
New York-based PVH owns designer fashion brands Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein.
Stefan Larsson, PVH’s CEO, said: “Elisheva has long been a highly respected and trusted partner to me and to our teams across our company. Her broad legal expertise, collaborative leadership style, deep understanding of our strategic priorities and passion for our brands and our people, position her well to further drive PVH’s long-term growth.”
Hirshman joined PVH in 2016 as associate GC for employment and litigation, becoming assistant GC in 2020 and then deputy GC back in February.
Prior to joining PVH, she spent just over a year and a half at DLA Piper as an employment associate, during which time she spent five months on secondment at PVH.
Earlier in her career, she practised at Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman and Weil Gotshal & Manges.
Fischer, meanwhile, is set to step down as PVH’s legal head after 27 years. He will stay on in an advisory role until his official retirement next year.
Larsson said: “Mark has been an important part of our leadership team and partner to our board throughout his tenure with PVH. His thoughtful leadership and trusted counsel have made a lasting impact on our company and the many colleagues who have worked alongside him.”
Fischer joined PVH back in 1999 from legacy firm Rosenman & Colin, where he was a partner. He started his career in private practice back in 1987 at legacy Nixon Hargrave Devans & Doyle.
He said: “It has been a privilege to have played a critical role in PVH’s storied journey, to have worked alongside so many talented colleagues and to have built the legal team into the important partner that we are today.
“I have the fullest confidence in Elisheva and the legal team as they continue to drive and support PVH’s business and strategic priorities in realising the full potential of our brands and business.”
