Clyde boasts 50 per cent women in latest round

Clyde & Co has made up 16 in this year's round of partner promotions, half of whom are women.

The latest round is the largest ever for the firm and brings its total partnership to 375. The greatest intake was made across Clyde’s insurance sector group, which has 10 new partners. Dispute resolution has four, while the firm’s corporate and energy sectors received two and one respectively. The promotions were spread across the firm’s international offices, although eight of the new partners are based in the UK. The next biggest regions in terms of partner promotions were Asia Pacific and the Middle East, with three each.

Diversity

The latest round appears to be making good on Clyde’s announcement last December to overhaul its diversity and inclusion programme in an attempt to improve gender and social representation in its partnership. At the end of the 2014/15 financial year female partners accounted for 19.1 per cent of the firm’s partnership. All of those promoted will join the firm’s equity partnership on 1 May 2016.
