Private investigators under the spotlight Bruce Rolff

A committee of MPs, the Home Affairs Select Committee, was planning to publish a list of 98 businesses today, including about 20 law firms. The businesses are on a list of organisations which had employed private investigators. Inclusion of a name on the list does not mean that the organisation has done anything wrong. However, the investigators have been accused of breaking the law on obtaining data in some circumstances. According to The Independent, the MPs are expected to discuss the issue among themselves on Tuesday, 10 September. There is some concern that some names should not be published.
