Dershowitz sued for defamation by sex case lawyers

Professor Alan Dershowitz has declared himself to be thrilled to have a chance to litigate his case after two lawyers sued him for defamation in connection to accusations about the Harvard professor and Prince Andrew.

Harvard University

Professor Dershowitz, of Harvard University, had threatened to begin disbarment proceedings against Florida-based Bradley Edwards and Paul Cassell, law professor at the University of Utah. They have begun a civil case which links the professor and Prince Andrew to a sex abuse case.

Massive public media assault

The two lawyers have now filed a complaint against him. It says: 'Immediately following the filing of what the Defendant, DERSHOWITZ, knew to be an entirely proper and well-founded pleading, DERSHOWITZ initiated a massive public media assault on the reputation and character of BRADLEY J. EDWARDS and PAUL G.CASSELL accusing them of intentionally lying in their filing, of having leveled knowingly false accusations against the Defendant, DERSHOWITZ without ever conducting any investigation of the credibility of the accusations, and of having acted unethically to the extent that their willful misconduct warranted and required disbarment.'

Corruption

When informed of the suit, the professor said: 'This gives me a chance to litigate the case. I can expose their corruption. I can show how fraudulent the allegations are. This makes my day.' Source: ABA
