Mr Ecclestone is to pay US$100m as his part of the bargain. Charges against him relating to bribery and incitement to breach of trust are being dropped three months into a trial in Munich. Mr Thomas of Thomas Deckers Wehnert & Elsner told reporters at the court: ‘This is not about a conviction, but a cessation of the trial with no admission of guilt. There will be no guilty verdict whatsoever and that clearly changes the situation in terms of the evidence and legal position, otherwise the talks between the prosecution and defence would not have been possible.’ Source: Sporting Life
