Fladgate snaps up PwC immigration head in Brexit move

The Big Four firm has lost its head of private client immigration to Fladgate as it seeks to grow its immigration practice as Brexit approaches.

Kelly Whiter

UK law firm Fladgate has hired PwC's head of immigration. Partner Kelly Whiter headed up the private client immigration team at the Big Four firm. Her appointment will strengthen the existing immigration team at Fladgate which offers high net worth (HNW) clients a one stop offering.

Higher Net worth offering

Ms Whiter specialises in delivering bespoke immigration solutions for private clients, working closely with international tax advisors and private bankers to ensure that HNW individuals are able to relocate to the UK in the most efficient way, while continuing to comply with the increasingly complex immigration requirements. Highlights of her career have included overturning mandatory 10 year bans, exceptional in-country switching applications, obtaining discretion in settlement and naturalisation cases where there are excess absences, accelerated settlement under the Tier 1 Investor and Entrepreneur schemes and economic citizenship applications.

Rising star

Commenting on the appointment, Fladgate's chairman Charles Wander said: 'Our focus on strategic growth continues with this appointment and we are delighted to welcome Kelly to Fladgate. She is widely recognised as a rising star in the immigration field and her enthusiasm and reputation will add to our growing capability in this area.'

Brexit

Head of corporate, Grant Gordon, added: 'Kelly’s prior experience of developing a successful best-of-breed private client immigration practice will be invaluable as the firm continues to grow its immigration offering and to service its existing client base in relation to their high-profile, complex and cross-border work generally and in light of Brexit in particular.'

Great platform

Kelly Whiter commented: 'Given the synergies that exist between my own practice and that of Fladgate coupled with their ambitious plans for future growth, this move presents a great platform and an exciting opportunity for me to further develop Fladgate’s private client immigration offering.'
