The news in Variety magazine that Fox is seeking a new boss follows hot on the heels of programming chief Bill Shine’s sudden exit as Co-president. Whoever gets the job will have a job digging the boradcaster’s way out of a mounting list of claims.
Alledged racial discrimination
Plaintiffs include Kelly Wright, who has been a correspondent, anchor from 2003 to present who claims racial discrimination. He’s part of an employee class action alleging a culture of ‘severe racial harassment.’ Allegations are vigorously denied by Fox. Other plaintiffs include Diana Falzone, an on-air personality at FoxNews.com and an employee since 2008 who is claiming gender, disability discrimination.
Claims of sexual harrassment
Tamara Holder, general commentator, host of ‘Sports Court’ who has been with the company seven years is claiming sexual assault. Andrea Tantaros has also claimed sexual harassment as did Wendy Walsh, contributor, Gretchen Carlson, Julie Roginsky and Laurie Dhue. It is believed that a number of these cases were settled out of courts for a total of tens of millions.
