Hogan Lovells is moving 90 of its legal support and business administration jobs out of its office in London.The law firm is relocating a range of business service jobs and legal support roles to Birmingham and Johannesburg. Some 78 business services jobs and 12 legal support roles will relocate in what the firm says is building its capacity in other offices.
Back office
The roles moving include a range of marketing roles as well as back-end data processing and IT help desk services. Hogan Lovells’ Johannesburg outpost currently employs around 110 staff in areas including marketing, finance, technology, and business development. Meanwhile, its Birmingham counterpart which took on its first trainee lawyers in 2016 is home to roughly 70 employees. Both hubs opened in 2014.

Hogan Lovells is the latest to make changes to its support team. Last week Pinsents announced plans to review personal assistant jobs with 100 likely to disappear. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has also taken similar steps offering voluntary redundancy to 180 or so of its London support staff.
