Hogan Lovells has wooed a team of four high-profile Silicon Valley lawyers who have worked together for almost 20 years at Weil Gotshal. The renowned Silicon Valley team of four will be based in the firm's Menlo Park and San Francisco offices.

Top merger and acquisition partners Richard Climan, Keith Flaum and Jane Ross alongside IP and technology transactions partner John Brockland will join its global corporate team.  Both Mr Climan and Mr Flaum will also join the global leadership teams within Hogan Lovells’ corporate practice. The team has been working together on Silicon Valley and global cases for almost two decades and during that time handled some of the biggest transactions in the technology and life sciences sectors. They also worked with some of the most illustrious players in the world such as Adobe, Ant Financial, Applied Materials, eBay, Facebook, Gilead Sciences, Intel, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Oracle, Qorvo and Synopsys. Recent work led by the team includes Facebook’s acquisition of WhatsApp for $16 billon, the successful defense of Illumina against Roche’s $6.2 billon hostile takeover attempt,  the $2 billon sale of the Los Angeles Dodgers to a buyout group led by Guggenheim Partners as well as more than 25 acquisitions for Adobe, eBay, Intel, Oracle and Synopsys.
