HSBC Deputy General Counsel Richard Given is leaving to join fintech startup 10x Banking as company secretary. The new company, which was founded by former Barclays chief executive Antony Jenkins, claims to be reinventing banking. It is 'building a universal platform built on open banking principles, infinitely configurable and constantly evolving to deliver better, more personal, experiences for everyone.' Mr Given will be replaced at HSBC by associate GC Stephen Cooke, who has been at the bank for nearly 10 years. He began his career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer before moving in-house in 2000 with media company Aegis Group, before joining IT company Cisco in 2006. After five years with Cisco, Given joined HSBC in 2011.
