Kirkland & Ellis expands energy practice with Houston base

The 1,600-lawyer firm is opening its seventh US office by setting up a base in the energy hub of Houston.

The office will be headed by Andrew T Calder who is joining the firm as a partner from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. He specialises in the energy sector and works as a corporate and securities lawyer. Other leading corporate lawyers from Kirkland & Ellis are joining him in Houston, including Benjamin Clinger who is transferring from the law firm’s Chicago HQ. Source: ABA
