Neil Eggleston, a white collar crime specialist at Kirkland & Ellis, is to become the chief lawyer at the White House.

He takes over from Kathryn Ruemmler who departs after three years in the role. Mr Eggleston earnt himself a reputation when he was involved in congressional investigations over former President Bill Clint’s Whitewater property transactions.
